How My Insides feel

Beware columbus the crud is upon us. half flu half cold half dickhead. crimony i havent been this sick in a while. WTF. everyone i know is coming down with it, so wash your hands, drink water, rest and avoid it like the plaque. i was looking for a video of S.O.A. singing live "disease" but i found "draw blank" insted. shitty video but i wish i couldve been there in the infamous dc space to rage with those kids.

4th coast

I'm sorry but the fourth coast is sick. And i got mad pride in the midwest. the work ethic, the love, the people, the climate, the struggle. midwest is where its at and cam'ron knows what it is. mad pride from the MW, alway have been and always is.

Royksopp

You know ive liked these dudes for years and they bring good memories and thoughts into my brain when i hear them. This is my fav. song by them and prolly the most popular song too. The vid. is pretty cool with the sims visuals etc.

Sweeeeeeeeeet

This vid. is totally fun, its sort of long but fun to watch.
life is about balance....fantastic

Found on the Street on a Piece of Paper

1:
when will we
learn to die
to feed those
faceless soliders
in all the hands
in all the states
tied by one flag
theyre numb and motionless
a slow gone
death during a living afternoon
are we
alone in this disease
unable to transcend a language

2:
we all wake up
with black hands
from the night air,
a rinse in the
sink and a look
in the mirror
reflects those
memories of
walking through
daylit locked streets.
flourescent light lands like
burdens on our morning skin
reminding us of the
routine to come.
the water beads and rolls
like hesitant time,
from minutes to minutes
we're afraid of our own fingerprints and
lifelines we cant discern
gestures from movements
they're ours for the time being
unable to decide wather to hold on or release these
ideas from our fingertips
down through the
veins from our body
through the blood
of our past.

3: Paper Tiger

down,down
through cement jungles
crawls the paper tiger
full of moon lit dreams
it understands the end of night
undressed in paper mills
and oil trees
reach back and embrace
4 cuts fury
the dust of time and its back
like the sneeze of terror

4: in response to the "attack on america" on 9/11/01

tonight i mistook
planes for stars
tonight i bled
a shallow death
alone in ruins
with others by my side
hurt the brown skin said
the red the white and the blue
tonight we lost
our breath in
the mile high graves
we gathered round
and saw falling faces
through the campfire
tonight there was
mixed emotions
a thousand miles away
gunshots
in the air and
tears in their eyes
tonight tonight
was given a name
a place and a date
tonight
its brith was at
the end of others

5:

she shakes down absinthe street
the spinkling rain puts words in her mouth
like the ones on fogged windshields
she shakes down absinthe street
walking slow staring down at her feet
shrugging off anyone that she meets
holding herself in place
the rains hits her face
putting words in her mouth again

PEOPLE AT WORK

Thanks to Boston.com for these great shots of people working. We do our 9-5 and get in a routine that we forget about the other people that share this planet doing the same thing making sure the earth stays spinning.

Harvest of Hope fest

Sweet line up, i wish i could go to this mainly to bug out to Bad Brains. So glad they are playing again, i hope they make it up north.

sometimes i like faucets

really thats what it comes down to. design integration... all into one. when i see a solid faucet or solid piece of home furnishing it makes me smile...thats all. hope these make you smile. the design in these are slick and some of the pieces use murano glass from italy.

Dancing AZNS

Salad Fixers.....enough said.

Two things I'd like to do

The first one is the Primavera Sound '09 festival in Barcelona. They got a good band line up featuring some musicians that I thought didnt play live anymore. It's sponsored by Estrella Damm beer which I like and will probably be flowing like the Mississippi during this fest.
http://primaverasound.com/

The other thing I want to check out, which is more than likely seeing as I'll be in Philly in a May is to go to this new music venue in town called Kung Fu Necktie. They dont have much scheduled for May except for Merzbow which would be sick. Also diplo said you can get in afterhours in his last interview.

Mi Swing es Tropical

So I grew up one of the few Spaniards in the states. My family befriended the Latino community so i took in not only my spanish roots but also those roots from Latinos. I love salsa music and salsa dancing (although i suck at it) and Latino culture in general. I got Love for that culture because they took my family in and made friends with us. Here is a great track from Nickodemus featuring Quantic, it was featured in an iPod commercial also.

Double Dragon Double Dragon Double Dragon Double Dragon

Benny Benassi at BOMA

I got to see Benny Benassi at BOMA on wednesday this past week. He makes great teched out eurotrash. It was amazing, the place was packed and a line out the door. He is the man and alway will be, he can get 1000 people out during a storm on a wednesday night to loose their minds. He killed the crowd, he played for well over two hours with a massive build up and relentless beats droppin like bombs all night long. Everyone was going nuts dancing their asses off and getting sweaty. Here is a good pic of the crowd, i look scared probably because im slowly shitting my pants. The video is old but it has good crowd shots to show how huge this guy is on a global scale and how people love him. Try to get past the chaches and listen to the track, solid.

A V-day post of sorts

I like animation...

Joaqin Phoenix on letterman

I cant tell if this is for real or not. He is either on some hard drugs or just getting off of a bender. Or its a total stunt to get himself on the map for his "career change" into hip hop. Thanks to Dan for the clip.

will ferrell at his best

amazing, this cat knows what he is doing. the queens of the stone age are a solid pop rock metal act but they really won me over with this single and with will ferrell doing his thing

queens of the stone age on SNL

Faux Parfume

This is a total bite, but damn you know a faux scent. This is conceptual marketing art taken to a new level, why didnt i think of this. im a scent freak as it is, i love perfume, colognes scents in general becaus i couldnt smell anything in my adolescent years. great idea.

GREED

Francesco Vezzoli's project 'Greed' is a faux ad campaign for an imagined perfume. The entire project consists of a video trailer, a video (faux commercial), the bottle design and print campaign. The video was directed by the notoriously-exiled director Roman Polanski and features Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams embroiled in a fierce battle over the fanciful scent. The spurious campaign attempts to isolate and imitate the hype created by the promotion of a new luxury product in the mass market.

THE BOTTLE DESIGN

Just as Marcel Duchamp created Belle Haleine: Eau de Voilette in 1921 using a Rigaud perfume bottle with an altered label Francesco Vezzoli has created a signature perfume for the contemporary moment. Greed’s label features Vezzoli in drag, photographed by Francesco Scavullo, where Duchamp appeared on his perfume bottle as Rrose Sélavy, photographed by Man Ray.

THE INSTALLATION:

The installation at the Gagosian Gallery in Rome features the perfume in the center of the room flanked by the 'faux movie posters' (more on those below) and the faux commercial ran on a monitor

Bomba

Well this lil nugget of goodness was given to me by CCB. i love the bottle, its like a molotov cocktail waiting to happen when you are done drinking the drink. The stuff tastes great and you can slam them in one shot in the nifty little 8oz bottle that it comes in. the cap it interesting also, very grenade like. also these guys have been around since 1994...thats old in energy drink years.

Genius idea

This is a great idea, we need people to do that around here.
i propose that we have a "Free Hugs and High Fives" tent at Comfest this year.
itll be a great spot to camp out and get in the Comfest Vibe.

Great Advice

Aphex Twin- Windowlicker

I love this song, probably my favorite aphex twin song. what happened to him, what happened to warp records? I know they are still around and pumpin out music i guess they dont carry as much hype as they did during the broken beat/ IDM / laptop punk explosion. Im sure they will come back around, the music is solid. This tune is great the video is all toungue n cheek booty....fine by me :)

What we do is secret

Just finished watching the movie "What we do is secret" which is about The Germs mainly Darby Crash the lead singer of the band. I've loved these guys for years and i had no idea they came out with a movie. Crash is a friggin genius, was, and will always be. Here is a live version of "what we do is secret" at the whiskey.

The practice of Conceptual Art

Danish art collective Superflex, this is a bite from their site:

The SUPERFLEX exhibition at ARTSPACE seeks to challenge the excessive ownership and control of ideas and visual culture through copyright, trademarks and intellectual property legislation. What happens to the value of an invention, object, concept or design when it is copied? Is this value enhanced and furthered or simply dissolved?

Flooded McDonald's is a film work by Superflex in which a convincing life-size replica of the interior of a McDonald's burger bar, without any customers or staff present, gradually floods with water. Furniture is lifted up by the water, trays of food and drinks start to float around, electrics short circuit and eventually the space becomes completely submerged

New Culture Jamming sightings (NSFW)

Culture jamming is an individualistic turning away from all forms of herd mentality often by means of unsanctioned guerrilla communication. Check out the fake American Apparel ads poking fun at the ad styles and even at the CEO of the company. These are a bit rowdy which makes them funnier

slow motion skate

I love skateboarding. I havent done it in years, im old now and i suck. i skated during the glory years or golden years of the sport....but i still sucked at it. never could get down any tricks. so here they are in slo mo.

Super Ball

I'm not a football fan but I enjoy watching the major events with friends from time to time. The super bowl was entertaining this year and the commercials were pretty funny. Im fond of this one in particular it reminds me of my older brother Gary, he is in the army and we dont talk about him much.
